Holidays are a special time of the year, but they can sometimes be heartbreaking as well. Everyone is trying so hard to satisfy each other, whether it’s expensive or moderately cheap gifts, but hey, it’s all free!
But not everyone is lucky enough to get everything they want for Christmas. Luckily, there are still some good people left, “Things of My Very Own” makes some of those wishes happen.
As a New York-based charity, “Things of My Very Own” is working all year round, and holidays are no exception to that routine.
As they have outlined in their Facebook bio, “Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that provides crisis intervention services and programs to children in emergency situations, specifically, those who have experienced extensive abuse or neglect.”
Since the holiday season is upon us, the charity decided to post some of the humble requests from kids:
“My dad left…”
“I have anxiety and it’s had to make friends.”
“I have no friends because I have mental health issues.”
There are also parents filling out the forms, and it’s hard not to shed a tear.
“My dad has been out of work due to heart condition…”
