It’s mainly due to her cosmetics line dubbed “Kylie Cosmetics.” However, the story isn’t that simple.
How Kylie Jenner became a billionaire ‘mommy’
All hell broke loose when it was rumored that Kylie Jenner was expecting a baby girl, back in 2017. The media were latching onto every bit of information they could get their hands-on, and it wasn’t easy on the family.
As it turns out, the Kardashian family was indeed keeping silent until Kylie confirmed the pregnancy herself.
On February 4, 2018, Jenner took to Instagram and officially confirmed the news.
The fans were delighted by Kylie shedding light on the news, a healthy baby girl was delivered!
Into the billions
Despite amassing millions, while appearing on the reality-TV series, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians,’ Kylie Jenner wanted something of her own.
The 22-year-old mom eventually branched out to form her own series, a YouTube channel and her most lucrative business yet, Kylie Cosmetics.
As depicted above, her moving into the cosmetics industry is by far her smartest move yet. Reportedly, she started the company as a teenager, 17, using $250,000 of her own money.
Previously to founding the company, Jenner worked as a freelance model, getting multiple sponsorships and gigs throughout her career.
Kylie Cosmetics was launched in 2017, offering $29 lip kits as a mix of premium yet affordable product.
Needless to say, the product sold like hotcakes and everything was already sold out before Jenner could even refresh the sales page.
To date, Kylie Comestics generated over $500 million in sales and Kylie Jenner is now considered the youngest self-made billionaire.
“Social media is an amazing platform,” Jenner revealed speaking to Forbes. In fact, Instagram is the most valuable e-commerce platform online, and Jenner made good use of it.
A new brand
In addition to ‘Kylie Cosmetics,’ the 22-year-old mom recently launched yet another brand, dubbed “Kylie Skin.”
Her most recent venture aims to help girls of all ages get the skin they deserve, after all, “It all starts with skin,” as Jenner outlines it in the company’s bio.
As a result of her massive social media following, the brand’s Instagram page is already at over 2.2 million followers.
