The legendary characters based on Hanna-Barbera cartoon are poised to return on the big screen. ‘Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed,’ was the last film in the series, starring Freddie Prinze as Freddy, Sarah Gellar as Daphne, Mathew Lillard as Shaggy and Linda Cardellini as Velma.
‘Scooby-Doo, Where Are You’ was the first entry in the long-running series, it was produced by Hanna-Barbera in collaboration with CBS. It aired in 1969 and became a worldwide hit.
Despite the movies making a ‘decent’ amount of money in the box office, there were no scheduled ‘Scooby Doo’ movies in the works, up until now, that is.

Zac Efron made headlines when it was revealed that he was indeed chosen to play the role of Freddy, the ever-lasting leader of the ‘Scooby’ group.
Amanda Seyfried has been cast as Daphne, and Gina Rodriguez will be playing the role of Velma.
Release date
The movie is scheduled to release sometime in May 2020, and it’s been long-time coming return of the series.
