Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans is no stranger to controversy or concerns about her parenting. Her 4th of July celebration proved to be no exception.
Jenelle shared a video on her Instagram account that showed her, David, and the kids going to another state (South Carolina) to buy fireworks that are illegal in her home state of North Carolina.
Jenelle told fans that the family:
“went to South Carolina because in North Carolina fireworks are illegal.”
She even joked about doing the illegal act and said:
“the popo were there but it’s all good because we dodged them!”
Jenelle then explained that they take this little trip every year around this time as a family tradition, and that they even let the kids get some smaller fireworks for themselves.
“We have a tradition every year where we let the kids get these little book bags at the fireworks store.”
Fans took to social media to bash Jenelle hardcore. They couldn’t believe that she let her children pick out “little” fireworks for themselves, since they are incredibly dangerous. She was definitely criticized (again) for her parenting choices.
One said:
“Jenelle actually said the little ones (fireworks) are for the children… mother of the year!”
And another fan added:
“I mean… everything else she’s ever done that was illegal was broadcast on TV and she suffered no consequences so why start worrying now?”
It got even worse later on when Jenelle shared a video of the family enjoying the fireworks that they purchased. Jenelle’s youngest child, Ensley (4), can be seen holding up a firework and saying “Look, Mommy!”.
Fans weren’t pleased that Ensley was also super psyched when she found a firework in the shape of a gun.
Jenelle’s son, Jace (11) can be seen showing his sister how to light the firework and Jenelle’s only comment is “don’t put your hand in front of it.”
Looks like Jenelle just can’t catch a break lately. Maybe if she made some smarter parenting choices the fans would let up.
