Amber Portwood’s Ex Is Moving Away To Malibu Mansion With Their Child

You wouldn’t find Amber Portwood on a list of best moms ever, but she still loves children and wants to keep them close. Amber’s ex, Andrew Glennon recently revealed plans to move across the country with her son, James.

The former couple went to court for a custody hearing a few weeks ago and that’s when Andrew’s plans for a long distance move were revealed.

Andrew has had primary custody of James since the domestic assault incident Amber was consequently arrested for in July of 2019.

Andrew request that the court allow him to move with their son to his home state of California. Specifically, Andrew plans to move with his mega rich mom, Charmaine Witus, in her $5 million Malibu mansion.

The Malibu mansion sits on over 3 acres in a pretty exclusive zip code. It features a whopping five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a massive pool.

Apparently, there is also a separate guest house located on the property that currently houses Andrew’s sister and her fiancee live right now.

You might remember that Andrew currently lives in a home owned by Amber and Amber rents a much less prominent home nearby.

Andrew also requested to change Amber’s visitation schedule with her son.

When the lawyer asked, Andrew proposed that Amber have visitation with James:

“Three every month, three times a month for 10 hours at a time.”

He also requested that all of Amber’s visitations take place in California, and that she get no overnight visits with James.

Currently, Amber has three unsupervised visits with James per week, which is significantly more than Andrew is requesting.

When Andrew was asked by the court why he would like to relocate, he responded that he was having trouble finding a job in Indiana, but had multiple job offers in California.

Amber’s lawyer then asked about what steps Andrew has actually taken to try to find/secure a job in Indiana.

The lawyer said:

“What steps have you taken to obtain employment here in Indiana, after the end of your employment with Viacom in 2020?”

You might remember, Andrew used to work as a production member in the camera department for the show, Marriage Boot Camp, which is where he actually met Amber.

Andrew responded to Amber’s lawyer by saying:

“I got picked up by a film group in Canada to do a small courtroom shoot that was for about $250 bucks.”

Amber’s lawyer pressed on by asking: “Okay, and have you applied for jobs?”

To which he responded:

“I’m a full-time father so I’m doing what I can while spending as much time with my son. There’s no industry out here.”

You can’t fault him on that, it seems logical that there wouldn’t be a big filming scene in small town Indiana.

That’s when things got a little messier and Andrew revealed that in the past, Amber had suggested that he apply for a factory job, but that he refused because he has a “fused ankle” from a previous injury.

Amber’s lawyer asked:

“Have you applied for disability because of your fused right ankle?”

Andrew replied that he had not done so, to which the lawyer discussed that he had not applied to jobs in the film industry, but in the realty industry, as well as in sales.

Andrew also revealed that he had already looked into private schooling in California for James (which most likely Amber would have to pay for), but did not know how much the schooling would cost.

It sounds like the move might actually happen.  It will be interesting to see how Amber responds.
