Teen Mom star Leah Messer recently got engaged to her boyfriend of just over a year, Jaylan Mobley and now everyone wants to know everything they can about her new fiance.
Here’s a look at the top ten things you should know about Jaylan Mobley.
10. He is 25 year old, which is 4 years younger than Leah.
9. He is originally from Charlotte, NC.
Jaylan was living in Charlotte, NC, but now is living in West Virginia with Leah and her daughters in a home he bought for her.
8. He is First Lieutenant in the United States Army and a member of the West Virginia National Guard.
7. He’s a super smart, educated guy.
He recently completed the Cyber Basic Officer Leadership Course, which is apparently a really big deal. He shared on social media that “Less than 0.1% of each ROTC/Academy graduating class is selected, after rigorous interviews, testing and application process”.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a Master’s degree in Cyber Security, before that he attended college in Georgia Military College, and before that he attended the coveted school, West Point. And oh yeah, he interned at NASA (yes, NASA!).
Currently, he is a PhD student at Georgia Tech.
6. He has a twin sister named Jessica who he is super close with, and she has a son and a daughter that Jaylan is close with also.
5. He is buddies with Whiz Khalifa, yeah the real Whiz Khalifa.
Seems like Jaylan has some A list friends and a lot of major connections.
4. And oh yeah, he’s a really sharp dresser. At least he tries to be. He often gets a lot of slack for his clothes being a bit on the snug side.
Jaylan got picked on pretty bad for this tight “grandma” looking sweater he wore on the beach in a photo shoot with Leah. You have to admit the whole look is a little on the snug side.
3. He has really been trying to become an influencer in his own right for awhile now.
Currently, Jaylan has over 110,000 followers on his Instagram account. He often posts professional pictures of himself and with Leah.
2. Jaylan’s mom has a colorful criminal history, but they have a decent relationship now.
Tywana Mobley has been arrested on multiple occasions for crimes such as larceny, financial transaction card fraud and financial transaction card theft, and withholding. She has also had multiple stints in jail in 1989, 1994, 2008, and 2009 for those various crimes.
Tywana was even a fugitive on the run for weeks after she went on a spree of stealing wallets and purses from hospitals, school, and other local business in her hometown of Charlotte, NC.
Most recently as last year, Tywana was arrested for DUI (driving under the influence).
1. He planned the proposal to Leah for months and took her back to the place they first went on vacation together.
He told People magazine:
“I’ve been thinking about this for at least 2-3 months. I knew that it would be cool if we did it in Costa Rica — where we came when we first started dating.”
