David Eason’s ‘Teen Mom’ Salary Revealed, See How Much MTV Paid For His Appearances

Although David and his wife Jenelle are no longer a part of the ‘Teen Mom’ series, the question still remains, will they ever return?

Not only that, but some fans were questioning if they should even return to film the series again.

From MTV’s standpoint, things are pretty clear, they would only be willing to sign up for Jenelle’s return, not David’s.

An MTV spokesperson released a statement in 2019 stating that they are no longer filming with the couple.

MTV has ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since.”

Additionally, they stated that Jenelle’s story won’t be featured in the upcoming seasons of the show.

Jenelle and David’s MTV salaries

Jenelle was a prominent cast member of the show for a decade right up until the moment her husband sealed their faith with hisĀ  crazy actions and antics.

Naturally, the couple was compensated for filming the previous episodes of the show. The couple had to release their salary info as a part of a court hearing that occurred in 2019.

It was then publicly revealed that Jenelle was making around $400,000 per year and that her husband David made $60,000 for his contribution.

The salary info appears to be directly tied to their Viacom contracts that have expired by now. In case you didn’t know, ‘Viacom’ is a parent company of MTV.

To say the least, Jenelle and David were compensated fairly well while filming for the show. Jenelle definitely seems eager to return to the series but it seems like that won’t be coming to fruition anytime soon.

A new mutual reality TV show?

Now that Jenelle and David are back together, fans have speculated that the whole breakup thing was staged in order for Jenelle to get back to the series.

With the couple living together again, it’s only reasonable to assume that they’re on the lookout for the next big opportunity.

By the looks of it, Jenelle and David are already filming for their very own reality TV series. David seemingly confirmed this by replying to a comment on his Instagram page.

A fan commented that the ‘Teen Mom’ show is now better without them in it and David replied by saying “we are filming our own show but thanks for following”

Apparently, David and Jenelle are by no means throwing in the towel when it comes to the reality TV world.

Why would they? It’s not like they don’t have a lack of drama going around.

It’s unclear whether a major television network is picking up this project along with the couple but it’s going to be interesting to see how it pans out.
What’s not yet clear is whether or not the deal includes Jenelle’s mother, Barbara.

The 67-year-old ex ‘Teen Mom’ star complained to an outlet that Jenelle had managed to fire both of them. What stands out is the underlying concept of money which Barbara appealed to.

Barbara said that both her and Jenelle were getting paid an equal amount of money to participate in MTV’s ‘Teen Mom 2.’

In other words, Barbara also lost her hefty salary to the tune of $400,000 per season of the show.
